| Buju Banton Does Double Duty With Two New Videos |
|
Jamaican music icon Buju Banton recently wrapped shooting a double music video for his powerful anti-gun tune "Cowboys" and "Curfew" introducing Gargamel Music artist New Kidz. Produced locally by TD Film Production and directed by cinematic visionary, Ras Tingle, the pensively profound clip was shot on location in New Kidz' own Duhaney Park enclave as well as the historical Halfway Tree Square in Kingston. "Buju has the ability to command attention with his intense presence and voice," notes Ras Tingle, who actually worked as a grip on Banton's "Pelp It" video back in the day. "With so many of our youth embroiled in gun violence, the idea was to have one of today's most prolific Reggae artists -- and freedom fighter for equal rights and justice -- speak to them and to our people as a whole." The video for Buju Banton's "Cowboys" and "Curfew" featuring New Kidz will world premiere on TVJ's (Television Jamaica) popular weekly Entertainment Report this Friday night at 8pm. Both songs can be found on the wicked new Gargamel compilation Buju Banton Presents: Jamrock Classics Vol.1, which drops June 30th in Jamaica and the Caribbean, the UK and Europe. The album is in stores and online now in the US and Canada.
